China Glaze 'I choo choo choose you' NOTD - All aboard collection

I love nail polish, I must have close to 200 bottles of the stuff but it's not very often that I hunt for it. If it's not in the shops, I'll just end up forgetting about it because postage is scandalous nowadays.

I Choo choo choose you was love at first sight though and after seeing it on MissBudgetBeautys Instagram I simply had to have it. It's my perfect Autumnal shade and although it doesn't really translate on the pictures it suits my skin tone really well which can be difficult with this dirty murky type colours.

I found it online for a bargain £3.99 with free postage and it only took two days to arrive.

Natural lighting, 2 coats.

The colour is so hard to describe but I will have a shot anyway and say.... it has kind of a taupey base with a heathery purple duo chrome and gold shimmer running throughout. It is truly stunning and unique. Infact, I reckon you'd be hard pushed to find anything close to it in Boots or Superdrug. 

Definitely going to purchase some more polishes from this collection this week.

In the Navy - NOTD

As the colder months approach I think us girls love to pack away the bright summery colours in our massive nail polish collections and embrace the deeper, darker, chic looking nails!

For this I always turn to BARRY M Gelly polishes as the have some fab darker shades which look amazing with the high gloss finish that they give.

Blackberry is a creamy navy shade with a seriously glossy finish and is pretty much opaque with just the one coat, though I always apply two for maximum oomph haha. L O V E

Just a quickie

I couldn't wait to try the other Barry M 'Gelly' nail polish in GreenBerry.

I love it to bits, it's quite similar to Green Room from Topshop but I much prefer the application of this one. Slightly patchy on a few fingers again, so three coats would have probably been better.

BARRY M Gelly NOTD - Dragon

Following on from my last Barry M 'gelly' post I was happy to find several new shades in Superdrug which are very spring appropriate. I picked up two, but today I will featuring the pretty pink one, it's called 'DRAGON'.

Application was a bit thin and streaky and at 2 coats (2 coats in pictures) it could probably do with a third for full opaqueness! It is still super shiny and jelly looking, but a third would've made them even better (I was painting them half asleep at 1am or I would've added a third)

Overall I am really impressed, I think Barry M is my new favourite for nail polishes!

Available at Boots £3.99 each or currently on 2 for £6! They have a lovely nude I wish I'd bought now! Hmm. I will feature the minty colour once I have tried it out :-)

What a beauty!

Can you believe I forgot all about this beauty?! I spied it this morning whilst looking for another NEON polish to apply.

FROU-FROU by GOSH is one of my all time favourite nail polishes. It's like liquid gold, only pink!

Applies beautifully, fully opaque in 2 coats and long lasting! What more could you ask for?

Nails Inc - nail wraps♥

I'm sure you've all heard of minx? Well I really want my nails 'wrapped' by them but a/ there is nowhere near me that does minx, and b/ it's about £30-40! Pretty expensive in my books.

Well, I spotted some nail wraps in Boots today, made by Nails Inc. As I have had nothing to do this afternoon, I purchased a packet to tide me over until BGT. They were quite cheap too - £7.99!

Here's the result...

You get 24 wraps- enough for a a set or hands and feet with a  few spare!

The instructions are printed on the back and are pretty straight forward;

•  Remove nail polish and push back cuticles with hoof stick.
•  File nails to desired shape.
•  Gently buff nails to remove any surface shine
•  Select nail wrap which is the closest size to your nail. Trim if need be.
•  Heat the wrap for a few seconds with a hair dryer on a gentle heat. The wrap should start to soften and bend.
•  Carefully place the wrap on the nail starting at the cuticle edge (colour side facing up), applying firm pressure, push the wrap onto one side of the nail and then to the other until the whole wrap is neatly applied to the nail.
• Re-apply heat for a few seconds and push firmly over the entire nail for a secure fit.
• Trim the end of the wrap and then file the excess in a downward motion either using a glass file or a wooden file with very fine grain.

I found it quite simple to do, although I didn't use the correct sizes because I was worried about the 'shaping' part, because of this I have tiny bits of bare nail showing on the sides of some nails. I definitely need more practice, I have little bits of creasing here and there. I will get better at it though, and when I do I will post them again :)

I have been wanting this nail polish for ages, after seeing it on Lisa Eldridge some time ago. 'Mimosa' is part of the Chanel Summer collection which is absolutely gorgeous! After what seemed an eternity, it was finally released a few day's ago. I was at 'MeadowhEll' dead on 11am this morning to purchase some pretties, it was all so gorgeous I could have gone for the whole lot! 

(I purchased items from Chanel, Estee Lauder and Dior so if you would like a post on that just let me know.)

(Sorry about the shoddy application and anyone notice how short my nails are compared to my last nail post? Yes, I picked my nails off without even noticing!! Has anyone else ever done that?)

At £16 Chanel nail polishes aren't cheap, but I was determined to have this colour as it is so up my alley I would have regretted it if I had left it behind. Mimosa is a bright summery yellow, with really fine gold shimmers running through it, although you have to look very closely to see these once you've applied the polish.

From my first experience using a Chanel nail polish I can safely say I am quite impressed. I don't think they are AMAAAZING quality. It applied quite streaky on the first coat but the second one glided on a lot nicer. There is still a little bit of streakiness going on but I think if I wasn't rushing like I was, two coats would have been perfect. Consistency wise it is just how I like it, not too thick or thin! Overall good, but nothing amazing! That being said, I would purchase another one if it was unique enough.

I have been loving really pale colours on my nails lately, namely - Bourjois 'Rose Lounge'.. you know, the one that Kate wore on her big day?

Well anyway, on Friday I was browsing the aisles of Asda and spotted the much coveted Maybelline express finish 'diamonds' nail polish. Of course I had to have it.

When I got home I put it on my nail rack and went on with my evening. It was past midnight, mid sleep when I suddenly remembered I'd bought it.. so what did I do? Put the TV on and painted my nails... pretty badly! (sorry)

I layered 2 coats of 'Diamonds' on top of Barry M 'indigo' and the results pretty much speak for themselves. Although I will say, my nails definitely look alot more sparkly in 'real' life. My mum said they look like, 'the night sky, with all the stars and STUFF?!'.

Overall for £4.09 this is a fantastic little nail polish, which I am highly impressed with. It is fully deserving of all the hype it seems to be receiving at the moment.

barry m - instant nail effects white♥

I purchased the new Barry M nail effects in white yesterday. They had the blue and pink one there too, but I was very good and just bought the one. I'm thinking this will look cool over pastels for spring and summer. Over the weekend I have been wearing 'four leaf clover' by china glaze which is really bright green. I tend to wear this when my poor little nails all snap as it is about the only brightly coloured nail polish I can face wearing when my nails are short. Weird but true.

Anyways onto the notd - notice the 'white' nail effects has actually turned YELLOW when I applied it! Why is this? I waited for the green to properly dry aswell. Oh well it's not too bad. I'm still not in love with these shatter type polishes, but I do like this white one better than the black one. I'll probably give it one more chance over a pastel nail polish before I make up my mind.

My nails all snapped! :(

teenage dream♥

I apologise for not blogging in almost a week! Same 'excuse' as always I'm afraid. Had my niece and nephew alot last week and by the time their bedtime rolls round, I don't have a scrap of energy left. So sorry about that.

I thought I would show you OPI's teenage dream from the Katy Perry collection, as I absolutely love it!! It's almost a quarter of the way down already. Obviously as its a glitter it lasts a lot longer on the nails than a traditional nail polish, making it perfect for my busy week, last week!

Ahh it's just so pretty and easy to wear. I think I need a back-up!

models own - juicy jules♥

I love a glittery nail polish, but don't use them all that much because as everyone knows they are such a faff to remove. On Saturday evening however I was feeling even more 'bleeurghh' than usual, so with that I decided it was time for some sparkle.

I opted for Juicy Jules by the fabulous Models Own. I didn't want a full on sparkle-fest so I applied a base - misty grey, also by Models Own.

I've blogged about my love for Models Own polishes many times, but just to repeat myself one more time. Application is lovely - just the right consistancy, opaque, reasonably quick drying time and what you see in the bottle is what you get on your nails.

Misty Grey is a really pretty, pale milky grey. I don't particularly like this one on it's own (on me) because my hands just look weird with a polish as pale as this (my hands look alot darker in the picture than they are in real life for some odd reason). It is a breeze to apply though. I just wish the colour suited me.

I tried really, really hard to capture the beauty of 'Juicy Jules' but I think I've failed. In real life it is super sparkly, and the sparkles are holographic (red, green, blue, green). It's such a fab pick me up nail polish. I can imagine if you really piled this on you would have yourself GOSH Holographic (check out my giveaway for the GOSH one here.) but in glitter form - and it would last longer.  I'm just sorry my pictures don't do this polish any justice.
